Description
Exquisite 17th century Spanish Baroque cabinets of grand scale, adorned with gilt bronze and metal mounts, ebonized wood, and tortoiseshell. Originating from Spain around 1680, these cabinets boast a central architectural door with Athena sculpture, flanked by Tuscan pillars. Ebonized walnut and geometric inlays grace the reverse, unveiling five tortoiseshell and ebonized drawers with gilt embellishments. Concealed within the bottom drawer is a secret compartment. Eight surrounding drawers feature matching steel locks and gilt escutcheons. Ebonized ball feet with gilt metal cladding complete the design.
With distinguished provenance, these cabinets stand as extraordinary embodiments of Spanish Baroque craftsmanship and artistic opulence.
