This late 18th century Sheraton period Carlton House desk exemplifies fine craftsmanship with well-figured mahogany, boxwood, and ebony line inlay, and satinwood banding. The elegant brass galleried top sits above small graduated drawers and side cupboards. The central green tooled leather writing surface features a convenient lift-up writing slide.

The desk's rear is adorned with three frieze drawers, providing additional storage. Its square tapering legs add a touch of sophistication, ending in original brass castors for easy mobility.
